Funny photos of people with nylons over their heads - Edwin David, Jan Caulfield, Pet Wrege, Winnie David. Captain Kurt Carlsen stays aboard the sinking Flying Enterprise - tells his story - cool sinking ship photos (See also LIFE January 14, 1952). Very nice full page color Niblets Corn ad with cobs of corn wrapped in labels. Neat photo of sea surge flood in town of San Sebastian in Spain, with guys clinging to side of building and lamp post. Amateur Archaeologists dig through Hohakam Indian mound in Phoenix, Arizona, Janice McLouth, Lester Weilands, others. Rashomon is a complex tale of passion and murder - directed by Kurosawa. Neat photo of Mount Washington in winter at sunset, aerial. Full page Champion spark plugs ad with Slick Airways. Artist Max Ernst makes microbe (pint size) pictures. Broadway play - Pal Joey - with Harold Lang. Assistant Secretary of Defense - Anna Rosenberg - hard working woman with George Marshall. Its opulence may be dimmer now but old guard is still “en guarde” story by Cleveland Amory with Illus by Saul Steinberg. Full page color Debeers diamonds ad with illustration by Raoul Duffy.
